Psychedelic Companies Are About To Go Public

Longtime cannabis activist Dana Larsen wants psychedelic mushrooms to be the next decriminalized drug. Of these substances are prohibited unless authorized for clinical trial or research purposes under Part J of the Food and Drug Regulations Psilocybin and psilocin are hallucinogens that produce effects similar to LSD Therefore, individuals using magic mushrooms experience hallucinations and an altered state of consciousness.
Dr. Martin Chasen, a palliative care physician and the medical director for palliative care at William Osler Health System in Ontario, noted that in studies on psilocybin, buy magic mushrooms psychotherapy sessions are mandatory as part of the treatment, patients are carefully selected, and the drug is administered in a controlled environment.

Though there remains a great deal of stigma surrounding the use of psychedelics, research into these drugs has shown that they do hold a great deal of promise so long as they are administered in a controlled and clinical environment or under the guidance of individuals who are experienced in the use of psychedelics.
Eminent psychedelic researchers have found positive effects on mood disorders and anxiety In fact, The Beckley Foundation is spearheading the push for the legalization of psilocybin mushrooms, backed by long-term positive effects found in their research conducted on treatment-resistant depression patients.
These preliminary results show that "in the right context, these drugs can help people a lot, especially people who have disorders that we generally treat poorly, such as end-of-life distress, PTSD, and addiction issues involving tobacco or alcohol," said study co-author Matthew Johnson.

Despite this, psilocybin, the active compound in psilocybin mushrooms, is illegal almost everywhere in the world In Canada, it is listed as a Schedule III substance, with a maximum of 3 years in prison for possession and up to 10 years for trafficking-related charges.
This is why, together with colleagues in the Therapeutic Psilocybin for Canadians project, I filed an application with Health Canada in January 2017, seeking a so-called "Section 56 exemption" —to permit us to provide psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy to patients with terminal cancer.

Founded in 2019 by Larsen, The Mushroom Dispensary says it's dedicated to the benefits of microdoses of psilocybin mushrooms for therapeutic purposes.” The dispensary's website describes a microdose as a dose around 5% to 10% of a typical ‘psychedelic' level dose.
Besides LSD and psilocybin, the drugs examined in the new review included mescaline; DMT, the common name for the hallucinogenic drug dimethyltryptamine; and the mood-elevating drug MDMA, or methylenedioxy-methamphetamine, also known as Ecstasy or Molly.
